Results of the National GI Survey II conducted using MyGiHealth highlights important new data including increased prevalence of IBS

MyGiHealth was used to collect data for three important studies presented by Cedar Sinai Medical Center, Michigan Medicine, and Ironwood Pharmaceuticals at this year’s DDW conference. The self-administered surveys guided patients through an online questionnaire to determine prevalence, burden of illness and healthcare behaviors. Using MyGiHealth’s proprietary algorithms and digital technology, data was collected and organized for over 90,000+ adult patients. Here are the posters presented and key highlights for each study:

  • Based on the survey results, the investigators noted that Rome IV IBS is more prevalent compared to prior estimates, and further research is needed to see if increased prevalence is due in part to COVID-19.
